Who writes this, and how
Lodge Ledger is written and published by Adrian Swales, a serving paramedic based in Wales.
I started this site because researching holiday lodge ownership is unusually hard. Park websites lead with the purchase price and go quiet on the annual pitch fee, the rates uplift, the licence expiry, the depreciation, and what a letting scheme actually pays you. The published figures are scattered, inconsistent and often out of date.
So Lodge Ledger does one thing: it puts real, sourced numbers next to each other and shows the working.
How these guides are written
Every cost figure on this site comes from a primary source: the park operator's own fee schedule or price list, the manufacturer, GOV.UK and the Valuation Office Agency, HMRC, or a named industry body. Every guide ends with a Sources section listing those references with the date I accessed them.
If a figure cannot be verified on a published page, it does not appear on this site. Nothing here is estimated, rounded up for effect, or copied from another website.
I am not a financial adviser, and nothing on this site is financial or investment advice. Ownership costs vary by park, by pitch and by contract. Always read the park's own licence agreement and fee schedule before you sign anything.
How the site is funded
Lodge Ledger carries affiliate links, marked (Ad). If you enquire with or book through one, this site earns a commission from the operator, at no extra cost to you.
That commission never changes what the guides say. The figures come from the sources, not from the partners, and I write about parks I have no commercial relationship with wherever the numbers are relevant, including the ones that compare unfavourably.
